Stamps, gold and rare coins... and other collectibles

Charity donation of rare stamp and coin collections, postal history, fine art, antiques and estate jewelry, may be the best way to receive value for your valuable collection, and at the same time donate to a worthwhile cause. There can be significant tax deduction advantages to donating your antiques, philately, numismatic and rare collectibles while having the satisfaction of knowing that our special kids' lives have been enriched through your generosity to a children's charity. We will provide payment for a certified, independent appraisal, per IRS requirements, for donations over $5,000 value.

Please click on the donation form below to see instructions for facilitating your donation. We are seeking items of considerable worth (e.g., gold coins and rare stamps) that will have a ready market value for sale or auction, benefiting our fund for special needs children.

Our beneficiary organizations help open new vistas and provide compassionate care for the medically, educationally and developmentally challenged. Our affiliates engage in research, provide services and access equipment for special needs and disabled children.

Many of our special need children are from communities that cannot afford the kind of one-on-one specialized care and expensive equipment necessary for them to thrive. Your donation gift can benefit those who need our help the most.

"Together, we create a special world: a world of love, a kinder world,
a world that celebrates life and all of its challenges."
We will provide you with a tax verification receipt to assist you in preparing your tax returns. You may deduct the full 'Fair Market Value' of your collectibles as a charitable contribution. This means that you do not have to realize any increase in value, since the time of purchase, as capital gains. The definition of Fair Market Value is "the price a collector would pay if buying the material for his own collection", not the lower price a dealer might offer if buying for resale. The IRS article, 'Give for Good Measure', outlines how charitable giving can lower your tax bill.

Many donors use the current edition of Scott's catalogue to assess the value of their rare stamps and stamp accumulations. Values of rare coins can be accessed at Numismedia.com

Donations to SKF, as a 501 c (3) organization, are fully tax deductible.
Please submit information about your donation so that we may contact you to facilitate the process.
Note: Consult your own tax advisor as to how donations may benefit your individual financial situation.
